Zimbabwe has a wide pool of talent that can compete at international level. The capacity of creative writing is evidenced by the highest literacy rate that is second only to Tunisia.
However there few publications from Zimbabwean writers that are being sold or published on Amazon, Smashwords, Apple ibook store, B&N to mention a few. This is attributed to sanctions denying use of paypal, lack banking confidence with results in insignificant use of credit/visa cards and other online payment platforms, delaying ecommerce and shrinked domestic demand for literature
There is lot to be done if we are to promote our literature, culture and values through publications on international platforms.
The question remains, what should be done first to rectify the problems faced by aspiring authors in Zimbabwe?
